Letters to ESP Students

Dear Entering ESP Students,

Welcome to the class!  Remember:
Never forget your stuff and make sure you're
Gonna have fun!
Give every assignment a chance
(You won't regret it)
Up your knowledge  for SQ3R even though you think you'll
Never need to, you're
Gonna have to.
Let other people give
You feedback (they can make you feel happy when you're
Down)
Never forget what you learn this coming semester because you're
Gonna need it the rest of your college career.
Run with a new idea and make sure it runs
Around your mind for exploration
And discovery.
Desert bad habits so
You don't drag them along with you.
Never forget the people, they're
Gonna remember you.
Make new friends, some will make
You
Cry.
Never forget the vocabulary, you're
Gonna use it!
Say what you feel about subjects, even during times you just want to say
Goodbye.  But most of all,
Never forget Professor Henderson. She's
Gonna help you and
tell you how to further your education
(A professor can't
Lie!)
And, of course, don't be
Hurt when
You have to leave :(

P.S. To get the full effect, go back and read every first word of every sentence.  Enjoy!  Hannah Hudson

To Future ESP Students,

The program you are now enrolled in is a truly ingenious idea and a great help you can take advantage of. I had actually accidentally signed up for the ESP course, but I am glad I did. Some advice I will give you is use all of the resources you have available to you now. This isn't high school anymore! The only person that will get you through this is yourself; however, the ESP tutor can help you. Take this time you have to ask questions, learn about your campus, and get involved in your education. I would secondly like to recommend that you stay on top of your work and your schedule. If you can successfully make your day-to-day schedule and stick to it, you'll do fine here. So like I said, use your resources, especially the teacher, and you'll be good to go. Hopefully, you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

Former ESP Student,
Nick Lanham
